AmRest was established in October 2000, as a joint venture of American Retail Concepts (ARC) and the Yum! Brands company (Yum!), earlier operating as Tricon Global Restaurants. The ARC shareholders include Donald M. Kendall, a co founder and a former President of the Management Board of Pepsico Inc. AmRest is a quoted company.
